On the day of your treatment most people are very nervous. You may be offered a cup of tea or a glass of wine to relax before your procedure. Please do not hesitate to ask if you would like one, we have a beautiful balcony overlooking the Hermosa Beach Promenade with an ocean view, so come in a few minutes early and relax on the balcony before your procedure. It is preferred that you shave the area the day before you come in for your appointment. At your appointment time you will be placed in the treatment room and asked to undress as necessary. You will be given a sheet to cover up with and the nurse will move the sheet aside as needed to perform the laser treatment. You will be given a pair of goggles to wear. The area is covered with a thin layer of ultrasound jelly and the laser is passed over the area 1-3 times depending on which area is being treated. You feel a slight heat and sting with each pulse of the laser, however most patients say its about a 3 on a 0-10 scale. If you find the treatment very uncomfortable you can request a topical numbing agent for your next appointment. The topical needs to be applied about 30-45 minutes prior to procedure to be effective so please remember to apply it before you come in for your appointment.
